American cable channel MTV has revealed it nominees for “2021 MTV EMAs Award”
The Award which has Justin Bieber being the most nominated also has Africa’s on the list from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania.
Nigerian singers Wizkid and Tems, who both collaborated on the worldwide smash hit “Essence,” were nominated in the Best African Act category.
However, South African “Ke Star” (which remix features Davido) hitmaker Focalistic, was nominated as Amapiano’s global profile grows.
Amaarae of Ghana’s “SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY” and Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz have also been nominated in the category.

Doja Cat and Lil Nas X comes next, with six nominations each for “Best Song,” “Best Video,” and “Best Collaboration.”
Ed Sheeran, the British worldwide superstar, and EMA newcomers Olivia Rodrigo and The Kid LAROI are close behind with five nominations apiece, including “Best Pop” and “Best Song” for Sheeran and Rodrigo.
