Biography
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally know as Wizkid aka BigWiz was born on 16 July 1990 in Surulere part of Lagos State Nigeria to a family of both Christian (Mother) and Muslim (Father).
However, Ayodeji’s father had 3 other wives, with with twelve(12) female siblings therefore, he’s from a polygamous home, Wizkid attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School .
Wizkid who is a a father of 3 sons Boluwatife , Ayo Jr and Zion has 3 baby Mama’s Shola Ogudu , Binta Diallo and Jada Pollock (his manager) respectively
Career
Machala as he’s also known, grew up being so much of a fan of Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and Bob Marley to the extent that you can feel their vibe in his music.
Starting his music career at the age of 11, Wizkid, released an Album with his group members (Glorious Five) as at then, which his stage name being Lil Prinz until 2006.
Fast forward to fame, Wizkid came into the limelight in 2009 as a signee under Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) which is owned by Banky W .
Breaking into the industry with his evergreen song “Holla at Your Boy“, the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011).
“Pakurumo“, “Don’t Dull“, “Love My Baby“and “Oluwa Lo Ni” just to mention a few were also tracks from the Super star album.
In September 2014, Wizkid released his secound studio Album which was self titled “Ayo” which consisted of six tracks: “Jaiye Jaiye”, “On Top Your Matter”, “Bombay” “One Question”, “Joy” and “Show You the Money”.
After Wizkid’s five years contract with EME expired, He left the label to start his Label “Star Boy”
